A 32-year-old man was arrested after he was allegedly caught siphoning diesel from a parked vehicle at a gasoline station in Barangay Greater Fairview, Quezon City.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) identified the suspect as “EL.”
Police said the incident happened at around 11:50 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 30, on Dahlia Avenue.
The vehicle owner was checking his parked car when he allegedly saw the suspect underneath, siphoning diesel with a hose.
The victim confronted the suspect and sought help from Fairview Police Station (PS 5) personnel who were patrolling the area.
Police recovered two containers containing a total of 36 liters of diesel, a red hose, and a "kolong-kolong" motorcycle.
Authorities also learned that the suspect had a previous case for violation of Presidential Decree No. 1602 (illegal gambling) in November 2024.
The suspect will face charges for theft under Article 308 of the Revised Penal Code.
