American doctor and content creator Dr. Mike Varshavski has revealed that he dated Pia Wurtzbach during the height of her Miss Universe reign, shedding new light on the romance that sparked speculation in 2016.

Varshavski, popularly known as Doc Mike, brought up his past with Wurtzbach while talking to Filipino-Canadian nurse and content creator John dela Cruz, better known as Nurse John, in a recent episode of his YouTube channel.

The two were discussing the intense scrutiny Filipino celebrities and pageant queens face when Varshavski suddenly shared his own connection to the Philippines.

“You probably don’t know but I should share some of my history. I dated Pia Wurtzbach at the peak of her career,” Varshavski said.

His admission came nearly 10 years after he and Wurtzbach were first linked.

The two met at a small gathering in New York in February 2016, while Wurtzbach was still serving as Miss Universe.

Photos and clips of them together soon circulated online, prompting speculation that they were romantically involved.

At the time, Wurtzbach did not publicly acknowledge a relationship with Varshavski.

In March 2016, she addressed the rumors during a Facebook Live session, saying she was not dating anyone, emphasizing her focus was on her duties as Miss Universe.

She later confirmed in a television interview that she was, in fact, dating Varshavski.

The relationship was brief, however, and the two eventually went their separate ways.

Neither became particularly open about the details of their romance or what led to their breakup.

Varshavski’s recent comments offer a rare glimpse into that chapter of Wurtzbach’s life, which unfolded while she was under intense public scrutiny as Miss Universe.

Wurtzbach has since married Scottish-Colombian businessman and content creator Jeremy Jauncey. The couple currently live in Dubai.

Varshavski, meanwhile, has built a massive following as Doc Mike, combining his work as a family medicine physician with health and lifestyle content.
