Carmelle Collado gets shot at Eurovision Asia with 'Sobra-Sobra'

Carmelle Collado will represent the Philippines at the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia after "Sobra-Sobra" won the country's selection during Sunday's Selection Night.

Carmelle Collado has another big stage to sing on, this time, in Bangkok.

The former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate and singer will represent the Philippines in the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia after her song “Sobra-Sobra” was chosen as the country’s entry.

The song, composed by Nica del Rosario and Mat Olavides, won the Philippine selection during Sunday’s Selection Night.

The result was enough to leave Carmelle almost at a loss for words.

“I’m really happy, super, super duper happy. And, I’m really grateful for all my fans. Thank you so much for supporting me and to all your votes. Thank you, thank you so much. God bless you all,” she said in a video posted by Star Music.

The win adds another interesting chapter to Carmelle’s already competition-heavy singing journey.

She first made a name for herself as a runner-up on “The Voice Kids” in 2019.

Then, in 2025, she returned to the competition circuit and emerged as the grand champion of “Tawag ng Tanghalan: School Showdown” on “It’s Showtime.”

She later entered the “Pinoy Big Brother” house, giving audiences another chance to get to know the singer beyond the stage.

Now, “Sobra-Sobra” is giving her a rather different kind of assignment: taking Filipino music to an international song competition.

The inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia is scheduled for Nov. 14 in Bangkok, Thailand.
