Justin Arana has been activated for Gilas Pilipinas’ game against Iran in the fourth window of the 2027 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers at the Mall of Asia Arena on Sunday, Aug. 30.
The Converge big man is taking the spot of Carl Tamayo, who suffered an ankle injury in the Nationals’ 82-81 escape against Jordan in the first game of the window.
It marks the first time Arana will be playing for the national team after also being called up before the start of the team’s preparation in the window.
He will join Kai Sotto, June Mar Fajardo and AJ Edu at the frontlines with Justine Baltazar and Troy Rosario also patrolling the paint.
Kevin Quiambao, Dwight Ramos and Chris Newsome are filling up the wings while Scottie Thompson, CJ Perez and Juan Gomez de Liaño will man the point guard spot.
The Nationals will take on an Iranian team looking to bounce back from a tough 93-91 loss to New Zealand in the first game.
