Heavy rains cause landslide in Taguig

Heavy rains caused a landslide and collapse of a wall of a house in Barangay Pembo, Taguig, on Aug. 29.
The Pembo Fire & Rescue Brigade reported that the landslide occurred on Dahlia Street in the barangay.
The team received a radio report of the incident at about 2:16 p.m. and went to the area. A family of 11 members was evacuated because of the incident.
The Taguig City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and City Social Welfare and Development Office arrived and conducted a preliminary hazard and welfare assessment. The affected area was cordoned off.
They were followed by the City Search and Rescue, which conducted a structural and safety evaluation.
The owner of the adjacent property where a construction was being conducted agreed to assist the affected family.
Meanwhile, the Taguig City government cleared fallen trees in different barangays, including Central Signal and Western Bicutan.
At 11:05 a.m. on Aug. 30, Metro Manila was under red rainfall warning.
