The Boomers proved to be too much for the Falcons, racing to an early 22-7 lead and never looked back since then to stay undefeated through eight games in the qualifiers.

The Jordan loss should help the cause for Gilas Pilipinas as it gave the Filipinos the opportunity to close the gap in the standings. The Falcons fell to a 5-3 record after also losing against Gilas, 82-81.

Anthony Dell’Orso led the attack for the Boomers with 19 points while Angus Glover added 16. Josh Bannan had 15 while Elijah Pepper chipped in 14.

Amin Abu Hawwas paced Jordan with 21 while Jalen Harris and Abdullah Olajuwon added 19 apiece in a losing effort.

Meanwhile in the first game, New Zealand made it six straight wins in the qualifiers after whipping Syria, 126-74.

The Tall Blacks leaned on the triple threat of Corey Webster, Flynn Cameron and Sam Mennenga to seize the second spot of the Group E standings with a 6-2 slate.

Webster led the way with 22 points while Cameron added 21. Mennenga chipped in 20.

James Justice Jr. was the lone bright spot for Syria with 22 points. His team fell to a 2-6 record at the bottom of the standings.
