Parańaque store owner held for disturbance, gun possession

A 37-year-old sari-sari store owner was arrested after allegedly causing a public disturbance and was found carrying an unlicensed .45-caliber pistol in Parañaque early Saturday morning, Aug. 29.

Police identified the suspect only as alias “Mark Anthony,” a resident of Barangay San Dionisio.

Personnel of the San Dionisio Police Sub-Station responded to a citizen's report of a man causing a disturbance along Pelaez Street at around 2:20 a.m.
Responding officers found the suspect shouting loudly in public while carrying a sling bag.
During his arrest, police searched the sling bag and recovered a .45-caliber pistol with no serial number, one magazine, and two live rounds of ammunition.
Police said the suspect failed to present any license or other legal documents authorizing him to possess the firearm.
The suspect was brought to the Investigation and Detective Management Section for documentation and further investigation.
He is facing an alarm and scandal case under Article 155 of the Revised Penal Code and violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
