Muntinlupa activates emergency response, distributes doxycycline

The Muntinlupa City government activated emergency response measures after authorities raised the orange rainfall warning in Metro Manila due to the southwest monsoon.
Mayor Ruffy Biazon said the city government’s Muntinlupa Operations Center is strictly monitoring conditions in various barangays, especially flood‑prone areas, through citywide CCTVs and radio communications.
The city’s search and rescue teams, along with water search and rescue (WASAR) equipment, are on standby to respond to emergencies.
The Muntinlupa City Health Office has also distributed free doxycycline for leptospirosis to residents in high‑risk areas, mainly along Laguna Lake.
City personnel continued declogging drainage systems.
Biazon said that based on the latest monitoring, water levels in Muntinlupa rivers remain within normal range.
As of 10 a.m. on Aug. 28, the Laguna Lake water level stood at 12.35 meters, still within the normal range.
The Laguna Lake Development Authority noted that the critical high level for the lake is 12.5 meters.
