CAMP MARCELO A. ADDURU, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan — Police arrested 117 persons and seized more than P662,000 worth of illegal drugs in intensified anti-criminality operations across Cagayan Valley from August 20 to 26.
The Police Regional Office 2 (PRO2) said 31 drug suspects were arrested in 23 anti-drug operations under the Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO).
Authorities confiscated 96.416 grams of shabu worth P655,628 and 55.22 grams of marijuana valued at P6,625, for a total estimated drug value of P662,253.
Police also arrested 81 wanted persons, including one most wanted person.
Three persons were arrested in operations against loose firearms, with two guns confiscated. Another 16 firearms and two explosives were surrendered or recovered, PRO2 said.
Ten persons were also arrested in three anti-illegal gambling operations.
In separate anti-illegal logging operations, police arrested one person and confiscated 1,560.3 board feet of illegally sourced lumber valued at P103,982.
Meanwhile, more than 12,000 individuals were apprehended for violating local ordinances under the Safer Cities Initiative.
PRO2 director PBGen Mariano C. Rodriguez said police will continue to intensify operations against illegal drugs and other criminal activities across the region.
“We will not give criminals any room to operate,” Rodriguez said, urging the public to continue cooperating with authorities to keep Cagayan Valley safe and secure.
