The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) contributed a total of ₱97.84 billion to the national government from 2022 to the first semester of 2026 through taxes, dividends, and mandatory remittances that help fund healthcare and other public programs.
The agency recorded its highest annual contribution during the period in 2023, with total remittances reaching ₱22.99 billion.
PCSO subsequently contributed ₱22.26 billion in 2024 and ₱22.22 billion in 2025, demonstrating its sustained role as a major revenue-generating government corporation and a dependable partner in national development.
As of June 30, 2026, PCSO had contributed an additional ₱10.74 billion for the first semester of the year.
Of the ₱97.84-billion total, ₱73.05 billion was remitted to the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) as taxes, while ₱10.30 billion was turned over to the Bureau of the Treasury as dividends.
PCSO also remitted ₱11.47 billion in support of Universal Health Care under Republic Act (RA) No. 11223. Another ₱3.03 billion was provided to various government institutions and beneficiaries pursuant to special laws and executive orders.
PCSO’s mandatory contributions support the programs of agencies and organizations such as the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd), Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB), Department of Energy (DOE), National Council on Disability Affairs, Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), Boy Scouts of the Philippines, Girl Scouts of the Philippines, Philippine Red Cross (PRC), Nutrition Foundation of the Philippines, Quezon Institute, and local government unit shares.
During the recent deliberations on PCSO’s proposed budget, House Committee on Appropriations Chairperson Nueva Ecija 1st district Rep. Mikaela Angela "Mika" Suansing commended the agency for its substantial contributions to government coffers.
“I would like to commend PCSO for all its contributions to the National Government. The funds the agency has contributed play a significant role in funding government programs and projects,” Suansing said.
House members Ramil Hernandez, Leody Tarriela, Joseph Tan, Maria Cristina Angeles, Presley de Jesus, Alexandria Gonzales, and Rebecca Maria Ynares likewise expressed their full support for PCSO’s proposed budget and thanked the agency for its contributions to nation-building.
“The nearly ₱98 billion that PCSO has contributed since 2022 shows how the public’s continued support for lotto generates meaningful resources for healthcare, education, sports development, disaster response, and other vital government programs,” PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles said.
PCSO emphasized that the value generated by its games extends beyond prizes and jackpots.
A portion of its revenues is returned to the Filipino people through taxes, dividends, healthcare funding, charitable assistance, and other contributions mandated by law.
“As PCSO strengthens its operations and expands access to its legitimate games, we also increase our capacity to contribute to the government and help more Filipinos. Every legitimate bet helps generate funds that ultimately return to communities through public services and social programs. As we always say in PCSO, ‘Sa Bawat Taya, May Kawanggawa,’” Robles added.
