Muntinlupa's Doctor of Medicine Program now CHED-certified

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has awarded a Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) to the Doctor of Medicine program in Muntinlupa.

The program is offered by the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa (PLMun)–Ospital ng Muntinlupa (OsMun) College of Medicine.

“We can now say that our very own PLMun–OsMun College of Medicine fully meets CHED’s official policies, standards, and guidelines,” said Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon.

Under Joint CHED–Professional Regulation Commission Circular No. 1 issued in 2025, the PRC will not admit applicants for licensure exams from state and local universities and colleges without COPC or government recognition.

PLMun, funded by the city government, is the first local university in the country to offer a Doctor of Medicine program among 140 local colleges and universities.

With the granting of the COPC, the Muntinlupa City government said CHED has confirmed that the program meets standards, including qualified faculty, adequate resources, and suitable facilities for medical education.

“Isa ulit itong milestone (This is another milestone) towards our goal of producing more homegrown healthcare professionals,” the mayor added.

Last July, the first batch of PLMun–OsMun College of Medicine graduates completed their studies and are now undergoing internship at OsMun.

The graduates are Princess Garcia, Aileen Mae Arban, Maxine Barlaw, Tricia Guevarra, Sophia Laranan, Ana Marie Ramos, and Jaycee Mae Rufino.
