She didn’t want to, but there it was.

Matet de Leon took to social media recently to apologize for something she wouldn’t normally want to do: cause traffic on EDSA.

No, she wasn’t shooting a scene there or selling something. She was caught in an unwanted accident.

Apparently, the vehicle carrying her family was sideswiped by a bus.

“Gusto kong humingi ng pasensiya sa mga taong naabala nang panandalian kanina sa may edsa,” Matet wrote in a Facebook post on Thursday, Aug. 27.

“Nasagi (?) kami ng bus kanina habang nakahinto sa kanto, sa likod ng jeep,” she added.

Matet said they decided to let the incident go rather than prolong it and cause more inconvenience to people.

“Nakakapikon. Pero para maiwasan ang abala sa mga taong pagod na at pauwi na galing trabaho, pinalipas na namin ito,” she wrote.

She did, however, have something to say to the bus driver.

“Sa’yo naman, kuya driver, kung nababasa mo to, ingat na lang sa susunod. Baka next time, maka disgrasya ka na talaga,” Matet said.

The actress also admitted that she got very angry after the collision.

“Hindi ako naging mabait sa driver kanina,” she said.

Matet explained that having her child inside the vehicle made the situation even more upsetting.

“Pero ang importante, yung mga taong sakay niya at mga mata traffic sa likod eh makauwi na agad,” she added.

“Nagalit ako kay Kuya, nang malala.”

She said her reaction was understandable, especially because her child was with her.

“Pero normal lang naman sigurong reaksiyon yon lalo na’t kasama namin sa sasakyan ang anak ko,” Matet said.

So if you’re stuck in traffic for no apparent reason, relax. There’s probably a perfectly good Filipino reason somewhere up ahead.

Like a bus sideswiping a celebrity’s car.
