Legarda thanks Antique legislature for support

ILOILO CITY— Senator Loren Legarda has thanked the Antique Provincial Board for showing formal support while she is on extended medical leave abroad.
This was after the Antique Provincial Board passed Resolution 775-2026 that expressed the collective “sincere gratitude, appreciation, and support to Senator Legarda for her exemplary public service and significant contributions to the Filipino people, particularly to the people of Antique”.
“Malaki ang kahulugan nito sa akin, lalo na sa panahong ito, at makakaasa ang aking mga kasimanwa na mananatili akong matatag sa paglilingkod at nakatuon sa kapakanan ng Antique at ng ating bansa (This means a great deal to me, especially at this time, and my fellow Antiqueños can rest assured that I will remain steadfast in service and focused on the welfare of Antique and our country),” said Legarda in a statement.
It was in 2019 to 2022 when Legarda served as congresswoman of the Lone District of Antique, the home province of her maternal grandfather.
Legarda was replaced by her younger brother AA as congressional representative of Antique in 2022 when she won a Senate seat during the 2022 elections.
For nearly a decade, Legarda was able to bring in big ticket projects to Antique.
The resolution noted Legarda’s “meaningful connection with the Province of Antique and has supported various programs, initiatives, and advocacies that have contributed to the welfare, development.”
The resolution was introduced by Vice Governor Genevive Lim-Reyes and sponsored by Provincial Board Memebrs Gaseva V. Recopuerto, Joseph Eugene D. Alojipan, Emmanuel C. Palacios, Jr., Alfie Jay O. Niquia, Kenneth Dave B. Gasalao, and Julius Cezar O. Tajanlangit.
The collective sentiment of the provincial legislature also lauded Legarda for having “consistently championed advocacies on environmental protection, climate change adaptation and disaster resilience, cultural heritage, education, sustainable development, and the preservation of the country's natural and cultural resources.”
