KATSEYE cancels Daisy Chain Fields appearance after Megan suffers injury

Another setback has hit KATSEYE, with the global girl group pulling out of Olivia Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields Festival after Megan Skiendiel suffered an ankle injury during a tour rehearsal.

KATSEYE announced through Weverse that it would no longer perform at the women-led music festival, scheduled for Aug. 29 at Great Park in Irvine, California.

The group said Megan sprained her ankle during rehearsal and, after being evaluated by doctors, was advised to stay off it and allow it to properly heal ahead of KATSEYE’s upcoming tour.

The members apologized to fans who had been looking forward to seeing them at the festival.

“We know how much our fans were looking forward to seeing us and it breaks our hearts to disappoint anyone who made plans to be there,” KATSEYE said.

The group said it was particularly excited about Daisy Chain Fields because of its focus on music, joy and community.

“We were especially excited for Daisy Chain Fields because it’s not just about music, but the greater mission of joy and community,” they added.

KATSEYE also sent its support to Rodrigo and the other performers, nonprofit organizations and volunteers involved in the event.

“We’re sending all our love to Olivia and to all of the incredible artists, non-profit organizations and volunteers who have given their time to make this day so special,” the group said.

Following KATSEYE’s withdrawal, Devon Again was added to the festival lineup.

Megan’s injury comes at a difficult time for KATSEYE, which has already been navigating activities with a reduced lineup.

The group has continued performing without leader Sophia Laforteza, who announced earlier this month that she was taking a temporary hiatus to prioritize her mental health and well-being. Her return will be reassessed in September.

Sophia’s hiatus came months after Manon Bannerman also stepped away from group activities to focus on her health and well-being.

Before Megan’s injury, KATSEYE had been performing as a quartet consisting of Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Megan and Yoonchae Jeung.
