Carpenter nabbed for posting ex-girlfriend's intimate photos

CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela — A 33-year-old carpenter was arrested in San Mateo, Isabela after he was allegedly linked to the online posting of intimate photos of his former girlfriend, police said.
Police said the suspect, identified only as alias “Jun,” single, and a resident of Barangay Salinungan West, was arrested on August 26 during the implementation of a Warrant to Search, Seize and Examine Computer Data (WSSECD).
The operation was conducted by the Sabangan Municipal Police Station, in coordination with the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit–Mountain Province (RACU-MP) and the San Mateo Municipal Police Station.
Police said the search warrant was issued by the Regional Trial Court, First Judicial Region, Branch 36 in Bontoc, Mountain Province.
Authorities recovered a Techno Spark smartphone from the suspect, which was inventoried in his presence and secured for examination.
Police alleged that the suspect uploaded sensitive photographs of his former girlfriend, with whom he reportedly had a three-year relationship.
He could face charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9995, or the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009.
The suspect was brought to the Sabangan Police Station for documentation and was set to be turned over to the court that issued the warrant.
The case remains under investigation.
