BOC condemns 35 tons of abandoned goods at NAIA

The Bureau of Customs–Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BOC-NAIA) condemned 340 shipment records covering more than 35.6 tons of abandoned goods worth P1.45 million.
The shipments, originating from various countries, included vape products, dysfunctional equipment, foodstuffs, pharmaceutical items, cosmetics, and other general merchandise.
They were condemned for violations of Republic Act No. 11900, Republic Act No. 10863, and other applicable customs laws.
District Collector Maria Yasmin M. Obillos Mapa said the condemnation underscores the Port of NAIA’s commitment to lawful disposal of forfeited cargoes.
Customs Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno stressed the importance of transparency and accountability in handling abandoned goods, reinforcing the bureau’s drive toward a modern and responsible customs administration.
