Angelica Panganiban, 'Call Me Mother' win at ContentAsia Awards 2026

ABS-CBN picked up three honors at the 2026 ContentAsia Awards in Bangkok, with Angelica Panganiban, “Call Me Mother” and ABS-CBN Studios’ adaptation of “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay” among the winners.

Panganiban won Bronze for Best Female Lead in a TV Programme/Series Made in Asia for her performance as Jackie Carpio in the mystery-thriller series “The Silent Noise,” produced by ABS-CBN Studios and Prime Video.

Panganiban’s award adds another international recognition for the series, which previously won Best Asian Content at the 2026 Global OTT Awards in South Korea.

Meanwhile, “Call Me Mother,” starring Vice Ganda and Nadine Lustre, won Silver for Best Feature Film or Telemovie Made in Asia.

Directed by Jun Robles Lana, the comedy-drama follows a queer foster mother who wants to legally adopt her son, only to face the return of his biological mother.

ABS-CBN Studios also took home Silver for Best TV Format Adaptation (Scripted) in Asia for its Philippine adaptation of the Korean drama “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay.”

The local version stars Anne Curtis, Joshua Garcia and Carlo Aquino.

More than 500 entries were submitted for the 2026 awards, with more than 180 programs nominated across 35 categories.

The winners were selected by more than 100 jurors from the entertainment industry in Asia and other parts of the world.

Now in its seventh year, the ContentAsia Awards were held Thursday, Aug. 27, in Bangkok, Thailand.
