Taguig sees two fires within hours

Two fires hit Taguig City on Wednesday, Aug. 26, displacing eight families and destroying P2.5 million worth of properties.
The Taguig City Fire Station said the first blaze broke out at about 3:42 p.m. in Purok 1, Barangay New Lower Bicutan, hitting the barracks of the Philippine Army Finance Center Transport Services Cooperative.
Firefighters raised the first alarm at 3:51 p.m. before declaring the fire out at 4:38 p.m.
The incident destroyed two structures, affected 12 individuals, and caused P2 million in damage. The cause is under investigation.
Eight fire trucks, 23 volunteer and local government groups, and an ambulance responded.
At 5:19 p.m., another fire erupted on Macapagal Street, Zone 6, Barangay South Signal.
The blaze started in a four story residential building, originating from the third floor due to burning rubbish.
Firefighters raised the first alarm at 5:32 p.m. and declared the fire out at 6:06 p.m.
The second incident damaged P50,000 worth of properties and affected four families or 23 individuals.
Eight fire trucks, 14 volunteer groups, and an ambulance responded.
