Robinsons Malls secures national honor for disability-friendly infra design

Robinsons Land Corp.’s (RLC) retail development in southern Metro Manila has earned national recognition for its accessibility infrastructure, securing the Bronze Award in the Disability-Friendly Establishment category at the 31st Apolinario Mabini Awards.
Organized by the Philippine Foundation for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled Inc., the Apolinario Mabini Awards is one of the country’s primary bodies evaluating corporate compliance and initiatives related to accessibility standards.
The establishment category specifically evaluates commercial properties that go beyond standard building codes, focusing on physical facilities, specialized services, and overall navigation safety that allow individuals with mobility and physical challenges to access public retail areas with independence.
“We are honored to receive this recognition, which affirms our commitment to creating spaces that are accessible and inclusive for everyone,” said Maria Kristina Real-Lim, deputy business unit general manager of Robinsons Malls. 
“At Robinsons Malls, we believe every individual deserves to enjoy meaningful experiences in spaces designed with dignity, comfort, and accessibility in mind,” she added,
Real-Lim said that the property developer intends to expand its inclusion initiatives through updated architectural designs, operational adjustments, and public-private partnerships aimed at modernizing its retail portfolio.
The recognition at Robinsons Las Piñas follows prior Apolinario Mabini accolades awarded to other commercial assets in the company’s portfolio, including Robinsons Magnolia in Quezon City and Robinsons Galleria South in San Pedro, Laguna.
The real estate firm has increasingly integrated universal design features—such as continuous tactile paving, specialized restroom configurations, and low-gradient ramp networks—into its nationwide pipeline of commercial properties.
Beyond structural modifications, the company collaborates with government units and civic advocacy groups to implement community-level programs targeting equal opportunity and physical accessibility across its operational locations.
As Robinsons Land continues to scale its commercial footprint nationwide, the property firm plans to standardize these accessibility metrics across all existing and upcoming retail hubs, positioning its developments as long-term fixtures for inclusive urban infrastructure.
