Police tighten security at Mandaluyong school after online threat

The Eastern Police District (EPD) has intensified security around La Salle Green Hills in Mandaluyong City as it investigates the authenticity of a reported online threat that prompted the school to shift classes online on Thursday, Aug. 27.
It said it coordinated with the school administration and directed the Mandaluyong City Police Station to increase police visibility and maintain a heightened presence in and around the school premises.
The Eastern District Anti-Cybercrime Team (EDACT) was also tasked to verify the veracity and authenticity of the reported online threat.
Personnel from the Mandaluyong City Police Station (CPS) were immediately deployed to assist the school in evaluating access-control measures, conducting security checks, and monitoring the campus.
As a precautionary measure, the school shifted classes to online synchronous sessions until Friday, Aug. 28, while security protocols are being completed.
Authorities said intensified security measures, including high-visibility patrols and vehicular checkpoints, remain in place around the school.
They are also coordinating with the local government, barangay officials, and school security personnel to ensure the safety of students, faculty members, and other school personnel.
The EPD urged the public to remain calm and refrain from sharing unverified information that could cause unnecessary alarm.
Authorities have yet to disclose details of the reported online threat as the investigation into its authenticity continues. (Freya Gan)
