Manila announces traffic scheme for Aug. 30 Decathlon Anniversary Run

The Manila City government announced road closures and traffic rerouting measures for the Decathlon Anniversary Run on Sunday, Aug. 30.

The traffic scheme will take effect starting at 1 a.m.
Affected roads include portions of Roxas Boulevard, Bonifacio Drive, P. Burgos Avenue, Finance Road, Maria Orosa Street, Muralla Street, Sta. Lucia Street, A. Soriano Avenue, Jones Bridge, Magallanes Drive, T.M. Kalaw Avenue, and Quirino Avenue.
The northbound lane of Roxas Boulevard from Quirino Avenue to Katigbak Drive and the southbound lane from P. Ocampo Avenue to Katigbak Drive will be temporarily closed.
Bonifacio Drive from Anda Circle to Katigbak Drive, P. Burgos Avenue from Roxas Boulevard to Jones Bridge, and Finance Road from P. Burgos Avenue to Taft Avenue will also be affected.
Jones Bridge and portions of Magallanes Drive fronting the Manila Central Post Office and the Bureau of Immigration will likewise be closed.
Motorists coming from MacArthur and Quezon bridges and heading to southbound Roxas Boulevard are advised to take P. Burgos Avenue and proceed to Taft Avenue.
Vehicles from Kalaw Avenue heading toward Roxas Boulevard should turn left at M.H. del Pilar Street, while those from Maria Orosa and A. Mabini streets should take Kalaw Avenue toward Taft Avenue.
Motorists from United Nations Avenue heading toward Roxas Boulevard may use the Roxas Boulevard service road.
Vehicles from Bonifacio Drive will be directed to make a U-turn at Anda Circle.
Motorists from the southbound lane of the Binondo-Intramuros Bridge should use the westbound lane of A. Soriano Avenue.
Vehicles coming from Plaza Cervantes and heading toward Jones Bridge may take the underpass toward Escolta or use San Vicente Street toward MacArthur Bridge.
Trailer trucks and other heavy vehicles coming from Pasay and using northbound Roxas Boulevard must turn right at President Quirino Avenue, while light vehicles may use the northbound service road.
Heavy vehicles coming from Mel Lopez Boulevard or R-10 and heading toward Roxas Boulevard should turn left at Capulong Street, proceed to Yuseco Street, and then take Lacson Avenue.
Motorists were advised to plan their routes ahead and expect traffic adjustments in affected areas during the event.
