La Salle Green Hills shifts classes online over security concern

La Salle Green Hills (LSGH) shifted all classes online on Thursday, Aug. 27, following a security concern reported to the school Wednesday night.
As a precaution, LSGH switched classes from Preschool to Grade 12 to synchronous online learning, including its International Baccalaureate (IB) and Alternative Education programs.
The school said it had identified the source of the concern but could not complete the necessary safety protocols and on-site investigation before classes began Thursday morning due to the late hour.
LSGH said the decision was made to protect its students and school community and avoid taking security risks on campus.
The school also expressed empathy and solidarity amid recent distressing incidents reported in the news, saying it acted out of care and vigilance to protect the safety and peace of mind of its students.
“Our top priority will always be the protection and peace of mind of our children and school family,” the administration said.
LSGH thanked parents and members of the school community for their understanding, trust, and cooperation as it prioritized the safety and well-being of its students and personnel.
Mandaluyong police maintained their presence in the area as authorities coordinated with school officials regarding the concern.
Classes on Friday, Aug. 28, will remain online asynchronously, as previously scheduled.
