QC LyfSaver Roadshow launched to speed up disaster reporting

The Quezon City government, in partnership with LyfSaver, has launched the QC LyfSaver Roadshow to speed up incident reporting and boost disaster preparedness through technology.

Mayor Joy Belmonte led the launch on Wednesday, Aug. 26, joined by LyfSaver convenors Dingdong Dantes, founder of YesPinoy; Atom Araullo, co-founder of FYT Media; and Voltaire Tupaz, co-founder of Lyf Solutions.
Held at the 3rd Floor, Bulwagan, High Rise Building, Quezon City Hall, the roadshow gathered barangay officials, volunteers, disaster responders, DRRM personnel, city personnel, campus leaders, journalists, SK leaders, students, and other participants.
LyfSaver is a community-powered and artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted platform that allows users to report, verify, and share real-time information before, during, and after a disaster.
It connects citizens, responders, barangay officials, and local government units (LGUs) to improve coordination and support informed decision-making during emergencies and other hazards.
The learning session and hands-on training demonstrated how the LyfSaver app can be used for real-time hazard reporting, information verification and aggregation, and volunteer and community mobilization for disaster preparedness, response, and relief.
Participants also learned how to report incidents, verify information, and share trusted updates during emergencies through discussions and hands-on exercises.
SK Chairman-Councilor Sami Neri and other Quezon City SK chairpersons also joined the activity, taking part in discussions and exercises on how technology can support disaster preparedness, emergency response, and the safety of QCitizens.
FYT Media spearheaded the initiative in partnership with the YesPinoy Foundation, UP NOAH, the Quezon City Public Affairs and Information Services Department (PAISD), and the Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (QCDRRMD).
The initiative seeks to strengthen coordination among the city government, barangays, responders, volunteers, community partners, youth, and residents while providing an additional tool for faster and more informed disaster response.
Organizers said verified reports submitted through LyfSaver could help save lives by providing timely information to support disaster response.
The “QC, Laging Ready” roadshow also encourages residents to remain prepared, alert, and responsible as Quezon City continues to strengthen its disaster preparedness and response efforts through technology and community participation.
