MG launches S5 EV, brings New Energy Tour nationwide

MG Motor Philippines will unveil the new MG S5 EV at the Trinoma Activity Center on August 27, 2026. The event will also mark the opening of the MG New Energy Tour 2026, a nationwide roadshow featuring the company’s range of electrified vehicles and powertrain technologies. Its launch forms part of MG’s expansion into electrified mobility in the Philippines. The S5 EV will represent the battery-electric side of the company’s broader New Energy lineup, which also covers hybrid and plug-in hybrid models.
The S5 EV is an all-electric compact SUV with a rear-wheel-drive layout. MG designed the vehicle for a mix of daily commuting, errands, family trips, and weekend drives.
The MG New Energy Tour will feature vehicles equipped with the company’s Hybrid+ system, plug-in hybrid powertrains, and fully electric drivetrains. Visitors will be able to inspect the vehicles, learn about their respective technologies, participate in interactive activities, and take selected models for test drives.
The roadshow is intended to help motorists understand the differences among the electrified powertrains available from MG. It will also allow visitors to experience the vehicles and consider which type is better suited to their regular driving needs.
Trinoma will host the first stop of the tour alongside the Philippine unveiling of the S5 EV. The roadshow will continue to other regions in the coming months, with the succeeding venues and schedules still to be announced.
Customers, automotive enthusiasts, and other visitors may attend the August 27 event at the Trinoma Activity Center.
