Aboitiz Power Corporation (AboitizPower) and Aboitiz Foundation Inc. partnered with the Zamboanga del Norte Electric Cooperative (ZANECO) to renovate the Tinglan Child Development Center in Barangay Tinglan, Mutia, providing about 30 local children with a safer and brighter learning space.
The initiative is the seventh completed project under the AboitizPower Revenue Operations group’s Adopt-a-Daycare Program and covers structural repairs, as well as the donation of new furniture and school supplies.
Coinciding with the turnover was the signing of an Emergency Power Supply Agreement (EPSA) for two megawatts between AboitizPower and ZANECO, with Therma South Inc. helping supply the latter’s service area in Zamboanga del Norte.
“Guided by our purpose to Transform Energy for a Better World, we work together with ZANECO to create an inspiring environment where young learners can grow, explore, and dream big,” said AboitizPower Head of Revenue Operations James Yu.
"This project reflects what our partnership with AboitizPower is truly about. They haven't just been a power provider to ZANECO — they've been a true partner, going beyond powering businesses and communities to help make projects like this possible,” explained ZANECO General Manager Atty. Jordanne Chan-Antonio. “That matters most when it comes to our children, who are at the heart of every community we serve."
The corporate social responsibility initiative builds on an 11-year relationship between AboitizPower and ZANECO through Therma South Inc. For more than a decade, the two organizations have supported the local economy and power stability of Zamboanga del Norte.
“Ngayon, mas ligtas at komportable na ang daycare namin para sa mga bata. Dito na sila pwedeng mag-aral at maglaro nang maayos,” added Ginalyn Ferrancullo, Daycare Teacher at Tinglan Child Development Center. “Sobrang pasasalamat namin sa AboitizPower at ZANECO. Talagang nakikita namin ang pagmamahal nila para sa aming komunidad.”
(Today, our daycare is safer and more comfortable for the children. Here they can study and play properly. We are deeply grateful to AboitizPower and ZANECO. We can truly see their love for our community).
