Rider killed after his bike collides with an overtaking bus in Quezon

PAGBILAO, Quezon- A 34- year-old laborer was killed after the motorcycle he was driving collided with a passenger bus traveling along Maharlika Highway, Barangay Silangang Malicboy, here, on Monday night, Aug. 24.

Pagbilao police chief Maj. Arjon Oxina identified the victim as Kev, married and a resident of Brgy. Ibabang Dupay, Lucena City, and a student driver’s permit holder.

He died on the spot due to fatal injuries.

According to the investigation, at about 10:50 p.m., the victim was traveling northbound when the DLTB bus driven by Fharna, 40, was traversing the opposite lane, overtaking another vehicle, and occupied the lane for the motorcycle when the collision happened.

Due to the impact, the victim’s body was mutilated and scattered on the road.

An investigator responded and investigated the incident, and a complaint of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide and property damage was filed against the bus driver.
