More Philippine crocodile hatchlings discovered in San Mariano, Isabela

SAN MARIANO, ISABELA — More Philippine crocodile hatchlings were discovered during a recent monitoring of nest sites in the municipality, according to the Mabuwaya Foundation.

The newly hatched crocodiles were carefully collected and brought to safety by Marlon Robles, one of the Bantay Santuwaryo, using two pails.

The foundation said the discovery adds another batch of hatchlings to this year’s growing Philippine crocodile population.

The Philippine crocodile, one of the country’s most threatened wildlife species, continues to benefit from ongoing community-based conservation efforts in Isabela.

The latest discovery highlights the importance of protecting nesting sites and the natural habitats of the endangered species.
