Police arrested a 24‑year‑old man in Quezon City after he allegedly robbed a private school and later led authorities to stolen items worth P95,000.
The suspect, identified as alias “Buboy,” of Barangay Sauyo, was arrested by Talipapa Police Station (PS 3) operatives during a follow-up operation at about 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 23.
Buboy later led police to several locations where he had hidden the stolen items, including four cellular phones, three external hard drives, a Samsung speaker, a CCTV camera, a WD Purple hard drive, and a red bag, with a combined estimated value of P95,000.
The private school in Barangay Sauyo had been closed for several days while its administrator was out of town.
At about 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 22, a relative of the school owner who was staying on the premises discovered that several belongings were in disarray and that the doors of the administration room had been forcibly opened.
She immediately informed the school administrator, who returned and confirmed that several valuable items were missing.
The incident was reported to PS 3 at about 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 23.
A review of the school’s CCTV footage showed two male suspects entering and moving around the premises at about 12:35 a.m. on Aug. 22.
Police said the suspects allegedly entered through an overgrown rear portion of the school, climbed onto the roof, and crossed the railings to get inside.
Interviews with nearby residents and bystanders led police to identify the suspects.
Other stolen items, including cameras, hard drives, USB devices, a portable fan, flashlights, and about P150,000 in cash, remain unrecovered.
Buboy will face charges for robbery in an uninhabited place before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
Police are conducting a manhunt for his alleged cohort, who remains at large.
