BACOLOD CITY - The University of St. La Salle (USLS) in this highly-urbanized city has heightened security measures and increased vigilance across its campus following an alleged security-related message that circulated online Monday night, August 24.

In a statement, USLS said it was verifying the report and assessing its credibility, emphasizing that it did not take such reports lightly.

As a precaution, all classes on Tuesday, August 25, were shifted to synchronous online learning.

The university said no specific or actionable threat has been confirmed, although the report has not been ruled out. Existing security protocols remain in place while monitoring and verification efforts continue.

Police Major Joeil Reclamado, head of Police Station 4, said authorities have coordinated with the university and increased police presence around the area.

He said no suspicious items were recovered during the investigation and confirmed that face-to-face classes are expected to resume Wednesday, August 26.

Reclamado stressed that authorities are treating the incident seriously because of the safety of students, faculty, and staff.

The police have also coordinated with the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit (RACU) to help identify the anonymous individual behind the alleged threat.

The USLS urged the Lasallian community to remain calm and vigilant and to report any security concerns to the proper authorities.

The incident comes a month after another security threat was reported at the school, which led to a three-day suspension of classes.

It also follows a series of school-related threats reported in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, earlier this month.
