Angela Muji builds momentum with acting buzz, new single

Her emotional breakdown as Alys Perez in Episode 11 of “Dating Alys Perez” has earned praise from viewers, with one critic describing the young actress' performance as “excellence personified.”

One fan called her this generation's “breakout star.”

Series director Crisanto Aquino also gave Muji her flowers.

“Can we give Angela Muji a round of applause for that breakdown scene?” Aquino posted on social media.

It is a good time to be Muji.

Apart from the attention she is getting for her acting, the young actress is also building her profile as a singer with the release of her new single, “Is It Over.”

The song has an interesting connection to the series. Aquino himself composed it.

Muji is not exactly new to singing. Before taking on the role of Alys, she was a member of P-pop group Generation.

“Is It Over” marks her latest move as a solo artist, allowing her to pursue both acting and music.

Adding to her momentum is her pairing with “Dating Alys Perez” leading man Rabin Angeles.

Their onscreen chemistry has kept fans invested in the series, while their off-camera interactions have given the fandom more to talk about.

“Dating Alys Perez” has also been attracting viewers outside the Philippines, with international fans sharing clips, edits and reactions to the series.

So naturally, the question comes up: Is the kilig limited to the series, or is there something happening between Angela and Rabin when the cameras are off?

For now, the two are not eager to define matters.

“Is It Over” is now available on Spotify and other digital platforms.
