Zambales police heighten security amid alleged school shooting threat
SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — The Zambales Police Provincial Office (ZPPO) has heightened security in schools here following a social media post about an alleged plan to launch an attack in schools in the municipality on Monday, August 24.
ZPPO Director COL Benjamin Ariola said additional police personnel have been deployed to conduct patrols around schools as authorities verify the reported threat.
“We are taking this matter seriously. Our priority is to ensure the safety of our students, teachers, and the entire community while our investigators determine the veracity of the information,” Ariola said.
Police investigators are also working to identify the person behind the social media post .
Police trying to determine whether the alleged threat was legitimate.
Ariola urged residents to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information that could cause unnecessary alarm.
He also called on the public to immediately report any suspicious persons or activities to the nearest police station.
The Zambales police assured the public that necessary security measures are being implemented to help keep schools and communities in San Antonio safe.
