Accident-prone Marilaque Road in Quezon claims life of yet another biker

INFANTA, Quezon- A 22-year-old young man was killed after the motorcycle he was driving collided with a van on Sunday afternoon, along Marilaque Road, Barangay Magsaysay, here, Aug. 23.

The victim was identified as Oca, of Brgy. Sampaloc, Tanay, Rizal.

At about 2:30 p.m., the victim was travelling along the accident-prone road from Tanay, Rizal, heading to the town proper while the suspect, Erwin, 44, was driving a van with registered plate no. NAC 5107, was travelling in the opposite direction towards Manila. 

Upon reaching a sharp curve, the vehicles collided near the broken center line of the road.

As a result of the impact, the Hi-Ace van's left-side window glass was shattered. 

The victim sustained serious injury when hisneck was struck by the broken window glass, causing him to fall onto the road.

Oca was taken to Claro M. Recto Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the attending physician. 

Erwin was unhurt and is now under the custody of the Infanta Municipal Police Station for proper disposition and investigation while preparing a complaint of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
