2026 World Café of Opportunities is set in Caraga region

BUTUAN CITY – The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) will conduct tomorrow, Aug. 25, the 2026 World Café of Opportunities (WCO) through its Job Linkaging and Networking Services (JoLiNS) in Caraga region at the Robinsons North Atrium, Butuan City.

The WCO is TESDA’s flagship employment facilitation and job-linkaging initiative that brings together TVET graduates and alumni, jobseekers, employers, industry partners, government agencies, technical-vocational institutions, and other stakeholders in a one-stop-shop platform for employment, skills development, entrepreneurship, and other support services.

TESDA Caraga Regional Director Florencio F. Sunico, Jr. said through JoLiNS, the activity also seeks to strengthen the connection between skills training and actual employment opportunities while addressing skills-job mismatch.

This big event on Tuesday, Aug. 25 aims to facilitate employment opportunities, improve job-skills matching, provide access to training and competency assessment, and strengthen partnerships among government, industry, employers, and other stakeholders.

Sunico said the 2026 WCO was intended to serve TVET graduates and alumni, jobseekers and unemployed individuals, workers seeking upskilling or reskilling opportunities, employers and industries with available vacancies, aspiring entrepreneurs, self employed individuals, returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), and individuals interested in TESDA’s training, assessment, certification, and other services.

During the event, participants will have access to various stations and booths offering job opportunities and recruitment, career guidance and employment facilitation, training and scholarship opportunities, competency assessment and certification information, skills demonstrations, government services and referral assistance, and industry and employer engagement.

The activity will be implemented by the TESDA Caraga Butuan City, Agusan del Norte Cluster, in coordination with the TESDA Caraga Regional Office, TESDA Agusan del Norte Provincial Office, Provincial Training Center of Agusan del Norte, Northern Mindanao School of Fisheries, as well as government agencies, private sector partners, employers, industry associations, and other stakeholders.

More than simply a job fair, the World Café of Opportunities serves as a convergence of employment, training, entrepreneurship, and support opportunities, designed to connect skills with meaningful economic opportunities, Director Sunico also said.

Through this, TESDA Caraga reinforces its commitment to ensuring that every skill counts, every opportunity is accessible, and every TVET graduate is given a pathway toward productive and sustainable employment or entrepreneurship.

Sunico also said the activity is expected to generate employment opportunities, improve job-skills matching, increase referrals for training and skills upgrading, strengthen industry partnerships, and generate Hired-On-the-Spot (HOTS) and near-hire applicants.

For TVET graduates, jobseekers, employers, and other interested stakeholders, the 2026 World Café of Opportunities is an opportunity to connect, explore possibilities, and turn skills into meaningful opportunities.

The activity forms part of the nationwide celebration of the National Technical-Vocational Day, observed every August 25 pursuant to Republic Act No. 10970, and coincides with the 32nd Founding Anniversary of TESDA.
