Two students are now in police custody after being identified as the ones who posted online threats targeting schools in Taguig City.

According to the Taguig City government, a police investigation revealed that one of the students claimed his classmate used his social media account to post the threat.

Authorities also examined a video showing a gun allegedly linked to the threat but confirmed it was not recorded by the two students and had only been downloaded from Facebook.

The city government warned that anyone found responsible will face legal consequences.

One threat was directed at Taguig National High School and Maria Asuncion Rodriguez Tiñga High School, while another post targeted Moreh Academy Taguig.

The alleged threat against Taguig schools read: “Binabalaan namin yung Taguig National High School at Maria Asuncion Rodriguez Tiñga, magkakaroon ng duguan sa Lunes… bawat Grade 7 room ang aming target… since nauuso na ang barilan, kayo ang aming pupuntahan (We are warning Taguig National High School and Maria Asuncion Rodriguez Tiñga that there will be bloodshed on Monday… every Grade 7 room will be our target… since shootings have become the norm, we are coming for you).”

The threat against Moreh Academy read: “Binabalaan namin yung Moreh Academy National High School na magkakaroon ng madugong laban sa Agosto 24, 2026… lalo na sa mga Grade 9 na makukulit kapag uwian… sila ang aming target since nauso na ang barilan (We are warning Moreh Academy National High School that there will be a bloody battle on August 24, 2026… especially Grade 9 students who are unruly after class… they will be our target since shootings have become the norm).”

In response, Taguig National High School said it will remain vigilant and prepared to address any safety concerns.

Moreh Academy Taguig announced that face-to-face classes will resume on Aug. 25, assuring that “appropriate measures are being taken immediately to ensure the safety and well-being of every member of the school.”

Security has been tightened, with police, barangay multipliers, and school staff inspecting bags and belongings.

Parents who choose to keep their children at home were assured that teachers will provide online activities to ensure learning continues.

Meanwhile, the Schools Division Office of Taguig and Pateros said classes at all levels will proceed as scheduled.

“As a decisive protective measure, joint inspection teams composed of personnel from the PNP, POSO, and BEST Security have completed thorough security sweeps of all school premises in Taguig. Heightened security protocols and increased presence of security personnel will remain active across campuses,” it said.
