Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3), through the Regional Community Affairs and Development Division (RCADD), conducted a five-day Disaster Preparedness and Search and Rescue (SAR) and Retrieval Operations Seminar from August 17 to 21, 2026.
The training, led by RCADD Chief Col. Ferdinand D. Germino, focused on strengthening the knowledge, skills, and readiness of PRO3 personnel in responding to disasters and emergencies.
Participants were trainined on disaster preparedness, search and rescue, and retrieval operations, equipping them with practical skills needed to respond safely and effectively when lives are at risk.
The activity came at a timely period as recent heavy rains and flooding have highlighted the importance of having trained personnel to assist affected communities during emergencies.
Under the leadership of Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez, Regional Director of PRO3, the regional police force continues to enhance the capabilities of its personnel in disaster response and community assistance.
The initiative underscores PRO3’s commitment to a broader role in public safety, recognizing that police service goes beyond law enforcement to include protecting lives, assisting communities, and providing support when people need help most.
