PH Coast Guard warns mariners over cable checking operations off Cagayan
TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Station Cagayan has issued a safety advisory to mariners and fishermen navigating the waters off the coastal towns of Cagayan, particularly from Claveria to Sta. Ana, due to scheduled post-burial and cable checking operations by MV Miclyn Enterprise.
The PCG said the operations will be conducted from August 23 to October 23, 2026, pursuant to Notice to All Mariners No. 0826-001.
The maritime activities will cover five designated areas of operation, with specific coordinates provided in the notice to guide mariners and vessel operators.
The Coast Guard advised all vessels navigating within or near the affected areas to maintain a safe distance from MV Miclyn Enterprise and observe appropriate safety measures while the cable checking operations are underway.
The advisory is intended to prevent maritime accidents and ensure the safety of fishing boats, commercial vessels, and other watercraft operating in the area.
Mariners and vessel operators were urged to remain vigilant, strictly observe navigational safety protocols, and take note of the designated areas throughout the duration of the operations.
