73 families affected in Muntinlupa fire

Fire hit a residential area in Barangay Cupang, Muntinlupa, on Aug. 22, affecting 73 families or 194 individuals. 

The blaze started at about 10:17 a.m. in Bunyi Compound on East Service Road. Firefighters raised the first alarm at 10:25 a.m. before the fire was put under control at 11:13 a.m. and put out at 11:50 a.m. 

Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon said the affected families are temporarily staying at Bunyi covered court. 

He ordered the city’s Social Services Department to provide assistance, especially essential non-food items like sleeping and hygiene kits, food packs and rice. 

The mayor assured families that they will be given financial support and referrals to other government agencies for special needs.
