BATANGAS — Three fishermen who had been reported missing were rescued by the Philippine Coast Guard at Balayan Bay, Batangas, on Thursday night, Aug. 20.
According to the report, the fishermen experienced engine trouble at about 3 a.m. while returning home.
Without communication equipment, they were unable to immediately inform their families of their situation.
After 20 hours, at around 11:30 p.m., fellow fishermen spotted their motorized banca near Barangay Anak Dagat, Lemery.
The PCG responded immediately and confirmed that the three fishermen were safe.
Barangay health workers examined them and found them in good condition, free from injuries.
The PCG once again reminded fishermen to always carry appropriate communication devices and necessary safety equipment before heading out to sea.
