Kean Cipriano on Unique Salonga's O/C Records exit: 'Walang kontrobersiya'
By Ian Ureta
There are talks that Unique Salonga’s departure from O/C Records came following a dispute not unlike that of mrld and Arthur Nery.
But O/C Records label head Kean Cipriano has belied this, saying there was no controversy behind the end of Salonga’s stint with the label.
Cipriano addressed the matter during an appearance on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," recently.
“Si Unique tapos na ’yung kontrata sa amin. Maayos ’yung ano namin with Unique. Wala (walang kontrobersiya), maayos ’yan,” Cipriano said.
He did not explain why the label chose not to renew his contract, simply saying he felt it was for the best.
“At noong time na ’yon alam ko rin na, ‘Ah, hanggang dito ’yung journey natin doon sa artist.’ Okay din kasi may nagawa kaming maganda,” he added.
He also expressed happiness over Salonga’s return to his former band, IV of Spades.
“Masayang-masaya ako doon,” he said.
Cipriano further stressed that he and Salonga remain friends despite the end of their professional partnership.
Under O/C Records, Salonga released his 2020 album “Pangalan.”
