Courier driver yields P3.4 million worth of shabu in Pampanga buy-bust

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga — A 22-year-old courier driver allegedly involved in the large-scale distribution of shabu in Metro Manila and Central Luzon was arrested in a buy-bust operation that also resulted in the seizure of approximately 500 grams of suspected shabu worth P3.4 million on Friday night, August 21.
The operation was conducted at around 8 p.m. along Dau Access Road in Barangay Dau, Mabalacat City, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
PDEA said, suspect only as alias “Haji,” allegedly used his work as a courier driver to conceal his illegal drug activities.
Operatives recovered the suspected shabu packed in five knot-tied transparent plastic bags, along with the marked money used in the transaction.
The operation was carried out jointly by the PDEA Region 3 Special Enforcement Team (PDEA-3 RSET), PDEA Pampanga Provincial Office, and the Mabalacat City Police Station.
Haji is temporarily detained at the PDEA Region 3 Jail Facility while the seized substances undergo forensic and confirmatory examinations at the PDEA Region 3 laboratory.
Authorities said, suspect will be facing charges for alleged violation of Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
