A portion of Congressional Avenue in Quezon City will be temporarily closed to traffic from 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, to make way for the District 6 National Youth Day Fun Run.
The closure will cover the stretch between Visayas Avenue and Luzon Avenue, and motorists are advised to take alternative routes during the affected hours.
Organized by the office of District 6 Rep. Ma. Victoria Co-Pilar, the fun run is part of the celebration of National Youth Day.
It carries the theme “Takbo Kabataan Tungo sa Ligtas at Luntiang Kinabukasan” and aims to promote youth welfare, raise awareness about online sexual abuse and exploitation of children (OSAEC), and encourage communities to help protect the environment.
Personnel from the Traffic and Transport Management Department (TTMD), Department of Public Order and Safety (DPOS), Task Force Disiplina, Quezon City Police District (QCPD), and Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will be deployed to manage traffic and maintain order in the affected area.
