Based on the investigation of the Mandaluyong City Police Station, the incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. while the motorcycle taxi, a Mitsubishi Mirage, and an Isuzu were traveling along Shaw Boulevard westbound toward Manila.
Police said the Mitsubishi Mirage was traveling slightly ahead of the motorcycle on its left side, while the Isuzu was following behind the motorcycle.
Upon reaching the area in front of the PICPA Building, the Isuzu suddenly struck the back of the motorcycle and the Mitsubishi Mirage.
Due to the impact, the motorcycle taxi rider and his passenger were thrown onto the roadway and sustained injuries.
Likewise, the Mitsubishi Mirage was pushed forward, causing its front-left portion to collide with a steel lamp post on the center island, leaving its driver and passenger also injured.
Responding emergency personnel brought the motorcycle taxi rider and his passenger to the Mandaluyong City Medical Center (MCMC) for medical treatment, while the driver and passenger of the Mitsubishi Mirage were taken by an ambulance to Cardinal Santos Hospital.
Authorities said the incident remains under investigation to determine what caused the Isuzu to collide with the two vehicles.
