- Sanya Lopez opens up about love, heartbreak, and moving on as she shares the message behind her new single "Laro," which reminds listeners that there is nothing wrong with loving deeply.
Most of us have a tendency to look back at failed relationships and wonder what went wrong.
Was it something you said?
Something you did?
Sometimes, we even convince ourselves that maybe we simply weren’t enough.
Sanya Lopez does not see it that way.
For the actress and singer, giving your heart to someone is never something to be ashamed of, even when the relationship ends in heartbreak.
“There’s nothing wrong with loving. There’s nothing wrong with giving your heart to someone, even if it didn’t work out,” Sanya said.
“Hindi ibig sabihin na may kulang sa iyo. Sometimes, that experience is exactly what helps you grow into a stronger and better version of yourself,” she added.
That message is at the center of Sanya’s new single “Laro,” which explores situationships, unconditional devotion and the painful realization that the person you love may not be the right one for you.
“What I really hope is that everyone who listens to ‘Laro,’ especially those who are going through heartbreak, will realize that it’s okay,” she said.
Sanya hopes the song can help people who are still trying to move on from a relationship understand that what they went through was not necessarily wasted time.
“I hope this helps them move forward and remind them that everything they went through was part of the process,” she said.
"Laro" came about almost by chance while Sanya was recording a Japanese song for the primetime series “Pulang Araw.”
Sanya immediately knew the kind of story she wanted to tell.
She wanted to tackle relationships that feel real but never quite become what people hope they will be.
“Sabi ko sa kanya, if ever gagawa ulit ako ng song, gusto ko sana about situationships or relationships that a lot of people can relate to,” Sanya recalled.
Produced and distributed under GMA Playlist, “Laro” is now available on major digital streaming platforms.
