Nominees for Seoul International Drama Awards 2026 announced

The Seoul Drama Awards Organizing Committee (SDAOC) announced on Aug. 20 the nominees for the Seoul International Drama Awards 2026 (SDA 2026), which will be held Oct. 8 at the KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul. 

The nominees consist of 30 titles and 34 individuals, narrowed down from a record-breaking field of 352 entries from 46 countries and regions.

The nominees for best actor are Anders Baasmo (“A Better Man”), Charles Melton (“Beef 2”), Gary Oldman (“Slow Horses” season 5), Hiroki Hasegawa (“Sleepy Eyes of Death: Nemuri Kyoshiro”), Jung Il-woo (“Our Golden Days”), Koo Kyo-hwan (“We Are All Trying Here”), Kim Seon-ho (“Can This Love Be Translated?”) and Ryu Seung-ryong (“The Dream Life of Mr. Kim”). 

Vying for best actress are Asuka Hamaru (“My Daughter Was a Bully”), Carey Mulligan (“Beef 2”), Elizaveta Maximové (“Mom”), Kim Go-eun (“You and Everything Else”), Jung In-sun (“Our Golden Days”), Karent Hinestroza (“Defying Destiny”), Lila McGuire (“Goolagong”), Rhea Seehorn (“Pluribus”), Yi-jung Wu (“The Carry-On”), and Go Youn-jung (“Can This Love Be Translated?” and “We Are All Trying Here”). 

The nominees for best series are “Defying Destiny” (Colombia), “Envy” (Turkiye), “Had I Not Seen the Sun” (Taiwan), “Her” (China), “Our Golden Days” (South Korea), “The Child” (Greece), and “The Guest” (Colombia). 

Competing for best mini-series are “A Better Man” (Norway), “A Woman of Substance” (UK), “Beef” season 2 (US), “Empire Oktoberfest” season 2 (Germany), “Mozart Mozart” (Germany), “My Royal Nemesis” (South Korea), “Nepobaby” (Norway), “Pluribus” (US), “Slow Horses” season 5 (UK), “The Dream Life of Mr. Kim” (South Korea), “We Are All Trying Here” (South Korea) and “You and Everything Else” (South Korea). 

The winners will be announced in September. 

The awarding ceremony will air live on Korean channel MBC and stream simultaneously on the official Seoul International Drama Awards YouTube channel. 

This year’s program starts with the 70th Anniversary Celebration of Korean Drama on Oct. 6, followed by the red carpet, awards ceremony and after party on Oct. 8. 

Drama Festa will take place on Oct. 9 and 10 at Banpo Hangang Park and Songpa Naru Park in Seoul.
