Police arrested a construction worker and a carpenter for illegal drugs in two operations in Taguig City on Thursday, Aug. 20.
Personnel of the Taguig Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit nabbed a listed street-level drug suspect and seized over P152,320 worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation on C-5 Road in Barangay Fort Bonifacio.
Police identified the suspect as alias “Eric,” 26, a construction worker and resident of Barangay Fort Bonifacio.
The operation was conducted at a mini park near the C-5 Road overpass, where an undercover officer acted as a poseur-buyer and transacted with the suspect, leading to his arrest.
During the operation, police seized seven plastic sachets containing 22.4 grams of shabu, buy-bust money consisting of a genuine P500 bill, and P3,000 in boodle money.
The suspect will face a complaint for violation of Sections 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
In Barangay Central Signal, operatives of the Southern Police District’s District Mobile Force Battalion and Muntinlupa police arrested alias “Rex,” 42, a carpenter listed among the top 10 most wanted persons.
He was nabbed based on a warrant of arrest for service of sentence issued on May 26 by Presiding Judge Bernard Bernal of the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 70 in connection with a case for violation of Section 14 (possession of drug paraphernalia) of Republic Act 9165.
Brig. Gen. Glenn Oliver Cinco, SPD director, commended the teams for the arrests.
