San Carlos City launches relief drive for flood‑hit families
SAN CARLOS CITY, Pangasinan — The local government has rolled out relief operations for residents whose homes were swamped by floods from the southwest monsoon (Habagat).
Distribution began Wednesday, Aug. 18, in six barangays, based on reports from barangay captains on affected households.
Officials said no state of calamity has been declared, with about eight percent of the city impacted so far.
Still, relief packs have been set aside for inundated families, and aid will continue in affected areas.
The city’s Hot Meals on Wheels program also remains active under Mayor Julier Ayoy Resuello, serving ready‑to‑eat meals to residents hardest hit by the rains.
Water levels continue to rise near the Agno River and its dike due to swelling upstream, prompting some families to move into evacuation centers with help from barangay officials and the city government.
