RLC finance chief Kerwin Tan wins CFO of the year
Kerwin Max S. Tan
Kerwin Max S. Tan, chief financial, risk and compliance officer of Robinsons Land Corp., was named CFO of the Year at the 25th Global Edition of the Asia Business Leader of the Year Awards in Singapore.
The award, presented by CMO Asia at the Pan Pacific Singapore on Aug. 3, recognizes financial executives for driving sustainable growth, governance, innovation, and long-term enterprise value.
Tan has directed RLC’s finance, risk management, compliance, and capital market strategies since 2016, building a balance sheet that supported aggressive corporate expansion through unprecedented market disruptions.
Under Tan’s leadership, the real estate developer executed a series of high-profile capital raises. In 2020, during the height of the pandemic, RLC floated a ₱13.2-billion bond issue. The company followed that performance in 2021 by listing RL Commercial REIT Inc. (RCR), raising roughly ₱23.5 billion in what was the Philippines’ largest real estate investment trust initial public offering at the time.
RLC maintained its market momentum with twin ₱15-billion bond issuances in 2022 and 2023—the former attracting approximately ₱120 billion in total order book demand—alongside an ₱8.5-billion overnight block placement of RCR shares in 2024.
Beyond capital market maneuvers, Tan’s team manages capital allocation, risk management, and governance across RLC’s residential, office, retail, hospitality, logistics, and mixed-use portfolios.
Tan, a graduate of the University of the Philippines Diliman with a degree in Industrial Engineering, brings nearly 30 years of experience across banking, corporate finance, and operations. He concurrently serves in key executive roles across RLC-affiliated entities, including RCR, Altus Property Ventures, Robinsons Double Dragon Corp., and Universal Hotels and Resorts.
RLC President and Chief Executive Officer Mybelle V. Aragon-GoBio noted that Tan’s financial oversight is integral to the company’s "Vision 5-25-50" strategy, which aims to reach ₱25 billion in net income by its 50th anniversary in 2030.
Aragon-GoBio said that Tan's disciplined approach to balance-sheet management and investment decisions provides RLC with a durable foundation for long-term growth.
