The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Parañaque City is strengthening its family-friendly services with a child-minding facility designed to provide a safe and nurturing space for children while their parents attend to work or transact business at the fire station.
Mayor Edwin Olivarez said that the facility is primarily intended for the children of BFP personnel, allowing firefighters and other employees to carry out their duties with greater peace of mind. It may also assist parents visiting the fire station for various BFP services.
Olivarez said that beyond providing temporary childcare, the facility will serve as a learning and development area where children can participate in age-appropriate activities under the guidance of daycare center teachers assigned to the facility.
The mayor welcomed the initiative, which supports the welfare of BFP personnel while promoting more accessible and family-friendly public services in the city.
Olivarez said that the facility was formally opened on Aug. 17 in a ceremony led by his wife, Janet A. Olivarez, together with BFP personnel headed by Fire Supt. Liher L. Barrios.
He said that the initiative is expected to help BFP personnel achieve a better work-life balance while ensuring that children are provided with a safe and supportive environment when their parents are on duty or seeking BFP services.
