As the Philippine property sector continues to evolve, a new generation of leaders is helping shape where the industry goes next. Among those recognized at the 14th PropertyGuru Philippines Property Awards is Monica D. Lorenzo, director for Leisure and Business Development at Torre Lorenzo Development Corporation (TLDC), who receives the Rising Star award.

Reflecting on what she has learned through the development process, Lorenzo says attention to detail has shaped how she approaches real estate. “Like technology, I learned that real estate is all about the little details. I don't think I appreciated just how much thought goes into every decision behind the building until I went through a whole project planning cycle. These details go far beyond the blueprint. They start with understanding what our residents and buyers actually want, and even things that they don't know that they want, yet they continue through how we design around those needs, how we choose our partners and our suppliers, and how we build our projects.”

For her, that attention to detail extends beyond the construction process and into how a development is managed after completion. “And for us at Torre Lorenzo, it doesn't end when we turn over the building. We believe that taking care of our projects and our residents long after turnover is just as important as building them in the first place. That care and that attention to detail, and that commitment to doing things properly, is what separates a good developer from a great one.”

Her work at TLDC includes its developments in Tierra Davao, where Crown Residences and Crest Suites are being developed as residential and hospitality offerings. The projects recently held their First Concrete Pouring, marking the start of vertical construction and a key step in their development.

Looking ahead, Lorenzo sees further opportunities for the Philippine property sector, particularly for the generation of leaders now entering and shaping the industry. “It's an incredibly exciting time for real estate in the Philippines. I truly believe we've only scratched the surface of what we can build and what we can bring to Filipinos. There's so much potential waiting to be unlocked, and I'm very excited to be part of the generation that gets to unlock it, to take the crazy ideas that might seem impossible today and turn them into places where people can live, grow, and build their lives.”
