The Mandaluyong City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department (DRRMD) conducted clearing operations after a portion of a wall at a private establishment collapsed on Shaw Boulevard near Calderon Street on Wednesday, Aug. 20.
The DRRMD Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Team immediately responded to the area, together with personnel from the City Public Safety and Traffic Management Department, City Environment Management Department, and City Engineering Department.
Authorities secured and inspected the affected area before clearing the fallen debris to ensure the safety of motorists and pedestrians.
Assessment and clearing operations are continuing as concerned city offices coordinate to ensure the area is safe and prevent further hazards.
As of this writing, authorities have yet to determine the cause of the incident.
